One to which the label 'exotic' can be attached, an 8yr/11yr Martinique-Guadeloupe blend that has stewed for a long time in sherry casks. The nose has a strong hint of Maggi spice, as well as barrel, grape, herbs and a lot of (sherry) sweetness. Lots of herbal spice, barrel, nutmeg on the palate. Overall, it doesn't really pick me up...
I really wonder what justifies this price. It's a solid agricole, but that's it. Oak, whisky and sherry can be extracted and tasted. On the palate, the agricole becomes quite clear. But over 300€???? For what?
Hmmm such an undrinkable mixture of gamy, grassy metallic. The nose is strongly reminiscent of Amontillado sherry. I'm actually a fan of the Couvreur whiskies - but this thing really disappointed/disturbed me, the cask just doesn't match the agricole that they put in there ...
