How does this rum taste?
- full of cane, fruity and a little spicy
- great value for money rhum blanc agricole
- delivers what expected from a basic white rum
Damoiseau Blanc stands out for its fresh sugarcane, grassy, and herbal profile—several users mention "full of cane" (Stefan Persson), lively citrus, and a clear earthy streak. On the nose, expect grass and agricole character with flashes of lime and some spice; the palate continues with balanced but punchy flavors—"round, balanced, dry, fruity and spicy" (Stefan Persson)—yet the alcohol is far from shy. While some appreciate its functionality in cocktails or Ti’ Punch ("a great cocktail base especially for a mojito" – Kieron Wood), others note it has a mouth-drying finish and a "bit too dry, earthy and spicy" (Decky Hicks Doughty) when sipped neat.

"This pure cane juice rum from Guadeloupe has an ABV of around 70% when it leaves the column still to be stirred and aerated for a period of 3 to 6 months in large wooden tuns whereafter it’s bottled after reduced to 50% by adding spring water. The nose is full of cane, fruity and a little spicy with aromas of lime and pepper. At the palate and during the rather long finish it’s round, balanced, dry, fruity and spicy with flavors of melon, lime and pepper. Overall it’s so round that it not needs any cane syrup when you use it in a Ti’ Punch."
"A white agricultural rum from Guadeloupe, this Damoiseau is a little strong on the palate, but goes well with rhums arrangés or ti-punch, even if it's better to use a rum from Martinique."
"#5005 28.12.2024 Enjoying a few samples while home alone 😊 Nose Intense, Agricole, grass, light fuel, overripe, fruits, sugarcane, light sour, light funk. Palate Oily, medium intense, Agricole, light grass, spice, medium spicy, sugarcane, light herbs, fruity. Finish Long and warm, Agricole, medium spicy, spice, sugarcane, oily. The empty glass has nice vanilla and floral notes."
"Gute Nase und erster Geschmackseindruck, nach hinten leider zunehmend metallisch und alkoholisch werdend, daher keine klare Empfehlung. Auch im Ti‘Punch nur Mittelmaß."
