MHOBA Umganu Brandy Cask (LMDW New Vibrations Collection) 2023
Most praise its wild, expressive cane and brandy cask twist; critics find it too sour, sharp and “Obstler-like.” Consensus: a distinctive but uneven Mhoba best for adventurous tasters.
Adventurous agricole fans and Clairin lovers who enjoy funky, fermented fruit, salty-vegetal notes and don’t mind cask-strength heat in a limited Mhoba release.

How does this rum taste?
Wild, funky, brandy-twisted Mhoba
If you like Clairin or intense agricoles and want to see how Mhoba plays with brandy casks, this is worth a look—but it’s edgy and can feel unbalanced to many.
Beginners, those sensitive to high ABV, or drinkers who dislike sour, fermented fruit or grassy profiles and are seeking an easy, sweet sipper.

wow, great Mhoba!
Delayed over 30 minutes. You can tell it smells different, but I wouldn't have guessed it was brandy. In the end, it smells nice. It's got the highest volts, but it's the softest compared to the indlova and umbila. In a blind tasting I would put my hand up that it's agricole from Martinique or Guadeloupe 😃.
100% Mhoba on nose, perfectly integrated and mild in taste. One of the best Mgoba I have tasted
