How does this rum taste?
Brutal strength, beautifully controlled.
If you enjoy powerful agricoles like high-strength Neisson or Savanna, this is a natural next step: massive ABV, dry wood and bright citrus that really reward slow, careful sipping.
Beginners, those sensitive to very high ABV, or drinkers who prefer sweet, soft, easygoing rums over dry, fiery, tannic profiles.

The esters are present and the ABV perfectly integrated. I'd go so far as to say surprisingly good! Hints of Christmas spices and, paradoxically, a smooth finish. A wonderful discovery.

A rum tasted at the WLP. A surprisingly light nose according to the ABV. Very ripe tropical fruit, a slight smokiness and a citrus edge. The sting of alcohol quickly gives way to fruit that develops with discreet wood. The finish is balanced and rather long. A very fine rum.
Isautier flexes its muscles with this extremely powerful brut de fût vintage. The nose, however, shows a rather delicate expression, with beautiful pastry and caramel notes that go well with vesou, fruit and citrus marmalade, and spices (vanilla, nutmeg, chili). A fresh breeze of flowers adds a welcome touch of complexity. The attack on the palate is like an atomic bomb. Very taut, the rum reveals its share of spices (chili, ginger), aromatic herbs and vigorous citrus fruits that want to make their way onto the palate. The result is a dry, powerful rum that blows like a dragon on the palate. The finish lingers like a flame on the palate. The fruit gives way to a spicy woodiness, enhanced by cloves and roasted notes. Then come more vegetal and herbaceous notes with vesuvius, more biting and contrasting with the darker notes. The finish is dry, with tannins also making their presence felt. A very lively, nervous rum that needs time to express itself fully.
