Neisson Rhum Vieux BIO (LMDW) Batch 2 2023
Most praise the creamy, nutty-citrus nose and how well the 51.6% is integrated. Critics find it very young, lacking depth and overpriced. Consensus: tasty, well-made but not Neisson’s top tier.
Agricole-curious drinkers who like fresh, vegetal-citrus profiles, appreciate organic production, and want a young but balanced Neisson that drinks easily even at slightly over 50%.

How does this rum taste?
Young, fresh, organic Neisson agricole
If you enjoy younger Neisson or other light-aged agricoles, this keeps the fresh cane and citrus energy but adds a touch of nuts and vanilla—just don’t expect the depth of older Neissons.
Those wanting deep oak complexity, value hunters sensitive to high prices, or newcomers who dislike grassy, citrusy agricole notes.
Young but solid stuff

This is a quite interesting rum! The nose is a mix of notes from fruit schnaps, sugarcane, hazelnut, citrus and almond. In mouth it’s very balanced and much fruiter, sweetier. The alcohol is integrated very well. Also the barrel stays in the background. The finish is long, dry and delicious. I would say, by far the best of this rum.
A very young rum, as the color shows. Plenty of citrus and grassy notes on the nose, therefore very fresh and youthful. Nothing special. Then crisp and spicy in the mouth. The best part is the finish. Tingling lemon, grassy.🍋🍋 I'm a big fan of this distillery, but this one disappoints. It somehow doesn't come close to the great Batch #1. 185€ for this bottle?😠Not like that, Neisson. Edit: In the glass again today, really not good. A cheek.
Basically a solid rum, but not quite to my taste at the moment. Unfortunately, the finish and aftertaste are relatively short. From memory, I've had far better Neissons in my glass.
#5012 31.12.2024 Relaxing with the last samples of the year 😊 Nose Light, round, sweet, fruits, light nutts, light wood, spice, light vegetal, faint caramel. Palate Oily, light, sweet, round, light nutts, sugarcane, light vegetal, spice, faint mint, light honey, fruits. Finish Medium long, light, sweet, round, light wood, sugarcane, faint herbal, light chocolate, dried fruit. Again a super well balanced release that most people can drink. Agricole notes are very subtle in my mind. The empty glass has light orange, raisin and faint cinnamon.
