“Bringt alle Merkmale des äusserst intensiven 2001-Vintages mit, dank der vergleichsweise geringeren Trinkstärke überfordert der Rum dabei aber nicht, sondern läd vielmehr zum Entdecken der Aromen ein. Durch die deutlich geringere Stärke fehlt natürlich hie und da etwas Intensität, wirklich dünn wirkt der Rum aber nicht. Reicht nicht für die absolute Spitzenklasse aus 2001, aber in meinen Augen fällt der Rum bei Weitem nicht so deutlich ab wie die aktuelle Gesamtbewertung suggeriert - aber selbstredend gilt auch hier: De gustibus non est disputandum.”

“Un rhum dégusté au WLP. Un beau nez chaleureux avec des fruits tropicaux sur mûrs, un côté herbacé et du bois verni. La bouche est un peu déçevante, trop sèche et peu aromatique. Avec encore des fruits. La finale est très courte et finit sur un bois astringent. On est loin en bouche des promesses du nez.”

“Un rhum qui a du potentiel sur le papier, le nez offrant une belle mixture entre des notes florales et médicinales sur les phénols et la fermentation, un côté plus empyreumatique sur le caoutchouc et des arômes fruitées sur la marmelade de fruits tropicaux. Le profil est plutôt attrayant et bien construit, avec quelques notes épicées et boisées en arrière-plan. En bouche, le rhum perd un peu de sa superbe. On retrouve un rhum léger, qui manque d’intensité et d’impact, notamment à cause d’un degré relativement bas. Les fruits exotiques restent présents, avec un peu de douceur vanillée et caramélisée, des épices et des notes médicinales et caoutchouteuses. Il y a du beurre qui ressort aussi au palais. L’alcool est bien intégré. La finale est très effacée, sur le même profil médicinal, doux, beurré, fruité et légèrement épicé. Quelques herbes aromatiques viennent se greffer brièvement avant de s’échapper comme le reste des arômes. Un rhum sympathique sur le plan aromatique, mais qui manque de longueur pour rivaliser avec les autres embouteillages du même Millesime.”
