How does this rum taste?
Most love the powerful menthol, fruit and salted caramel at 62.8%, calling it a classic 2009 T.D.L. Critics find it a bit bitter, alcoholic and less complex than older vintages. Consensus: very good.
If you enjoy other 2009 T.D.L. or minty, dry Trinidad rums, this keeps that fresh menthol-and-peach profile with serious punch—great once you’re comfortable with cask strength.
Those sensitive to high ABV or bitterness, or drinkers expecting a soft, sweet sipper with low alcohol presence and no menthol or herbal notes.

Nose: caramel, popcorn, red fruits, well rounded. Palate: full TDL as I like it, lots of red and yellow fruit, well-integrated oak, some tannins, well-integrated spices. Finish: long, fruity, smoky with a menthol veil that gradually thickens. I was skeptical when I first tasted it, but in the end I fell in love with it! TDL as I like it.
Menthol, blackcurrant and smoky triptych. Very well-balanced. Excellent
This one blows your socks off. What a impressive flavour concentration. The finish is really really long too. I had to proof it down a bit by adding water to enjoy it even more.
