How does this rum taste?
Most enjoy its clear Jamaica DNA, fruity nose and recognisable distillery mix. Critics find it too sweet, acidic, woody and a bit unbalanced for the price. Overall seen as a solid, characterful blend.
If you already like Jamaican funk and want a higher-strength blend that lets you pick out Long Pond, Worthy Park and friends, this is a fun, if slightly rough-edged, option.
Beginners, those sensitive to high ABV or acidity, and drinkers seeking ultra-clean, unsweet, non-bitter profiles or strong price-to-value performance.

The bottled vintages and distilleries raised some expectations. I have to say, I really like the bottling. It's impossible to tell exactly what's in it, but it tastes absolutely like Jamaica DNA and everything it needs to be. The slightly tangy ester note is reminiscent of NY. A good blend.
I thought Hampden distillate was overpowering the other ones before realizing there's no Hampden in there 😅 The nose is welcoming but the mouth is harsh and the flavours quickly vanished to let place to a very woody finish. Not my thing.
Guter Rum, aber eher auf der bitteren, adstringierenden Seite.
