La Maison Du Whisky Samai Rhum Cambodia (Flag Series) 2018
Most enjoy its Fiji/Jamaica‑style funk, citrus and spices, noting good complexity for 5 years. Critics find it thin, woody-bitter and a bit chemical. Overall: interesting, promising, not universally loved.
Fans of funky Fiji/Jamaica-style rums who enjoy solventy, vegetal and medicinal notes at cask strength and want to explore an unusual, dry Cambodian single cask.

How does this rum taste?
Fiji-meets-Jamaica funk from Cambodia
If you like younger Worthy Park, Fiji or Rockley-style profiles, this is a cool detour: similar funky, citrusy solvents and spices, but with a quirky Cambodian twist and no added sweetness.
Beginners, those sensitive to higher ABV, or drinkers who dislike plastic/medicinal tones and woody bitterness, or expect rich sweetness and polish from a 5‑year rum.

Interesting and of decent quality. Gives me some Fidji vibes with some dirty/plant-y notes on the nose and palate. Quite some sweetness and vanilla notes from the cask. Finish is a bit to woody/bitter to fully satisfy. Interesting profile nevertheless! Edit after some oxidation: evolved nicely, smoothing out the profile. Gives associations to the 2000 WIRD „Rockley“s, yet a bit more nasty. Same verdict: interesting profile!
Yes, schnapps. Perhaps usable as a mixer. Not recommended neat. Smells like a train station bum. Nice label and Lmdw affiliation don't save anything.
This is my first experience with the flag series and the Cambodia. In aroma it is interesting, citrusy. In taste, one could type Jamaica, in their softer and not so wild tones. The way worthy park often does.
Exciting profile. It is reminiscent of Fiji and Jamaica (Worthy Park). There is also a pleasant citrus note, which brings a nice freshness. A real surprise and a great rum.
