How does this rum taste?
Reviewers love the balanced complexity of Plantation Jamaica (LMDW) ITP, with its standout integration of tropical fruit and vanilla on the nose, followed by wood, spice, and even a touch of funk on the palate. Sipped neat, it's praised for its well-handled 62% ABV and nuanced Jamaican character—offering both a mellow estery kick and rich barrel notes. Consistently recommended for seasoned enthusiasts seeking a uniquely mature and approachable Long Pond experience.

After the discovery of the live whisky, which had thrilled me, I took the time to taste it again this evening. I'm still very impressed. A great ITP, especially on the nose. I really love this nose. Superb balance between fruit, wood and a gourmand side. On the palate, the woodiness tends to be a little too present, through a little bitterness that quickly blurs the fruitier aromas of the beginning. Too bad, but it's still a great rum. Another very fine plantation release in the top-range Jamaican range, at a price that's not at all unreasonable today for 20 years of age.
Off the top of my head, I would say this is the best ITP I've had in a glass so far! Significantly better than the ITP-15 (which was rather disappointing for the price) but also even better than the already pretty good Rum Songe No.17.
Ein weiterer Low-Ester Long Pond.
