Wow, this one really stands out from the last bottlings. Hardly recognizable as Barbados (Foursquare)... spicy and almost notes as found in Guyana are clearly present. Complex also in the mouth sweet, smoky... Chocolate and some fruit .... WOW . I like this direction 👍
You can notice the impact of the maple syrup cask already in the nose. I like this nutty/walnut note, in the nose and on the palate! The finish is middle long dry and sweet. The alcohol is integrated very well and gives this rum more complexity. All in all it’s a wonderfull rum, but too sweet for me.
Really exciting! I think it's very successful. I particularly like the distinct walnut note, which is quite unique! It's perhaps a little too sweet for me. But with the somewhat bitter and nutty finish, it could do with it. The base should probably be a WIRD. Definitely not Foursquare. If the base had been a bit better, the finish would have been even better...
Vielmehr ist die Wagemut Special Edition 2023 trotz des erhöhten Alkoholgehalts ein zugänglicher Tropfen, der sowohl den Kenner als auch den Neuling auf eine entspannte Reise mitnimmt. Er ist wie ein Streifzug durch die karibische Geschichte mit einem kleinen Umweg durch die kanadische Wildnis. Aber im Gegensatz zu den High-Ester-Abfüllungen kann man diesen Rum auch mal guten Gewissens den einen oder anderen interessierten Laien hinstellen. Gönnt ihm jedoch wirklich etwas Zeit im Glas.
