By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
This permanent-range rum is a sweet expression of gourmandise, with a nose of baked caramel and burnt sugar, spices (nutmeg, vanilla) and dark notes of coffee, chocolate, roasted nuts and dried fruit. The slightly varnished woodiness is equally pleasant. A nice nose for a rum whose age we have no idea about. The attack is beautifully round, as smooth and concentrated as the nose. Spices take over slightly, along with pepper, before roasted wood, coffee, chocolate, nuts, caramel and brown sugar take over. The above-average alcohol content adds a little character on the palate. The finish, of decent length, leaves the aromatic spectrum unchanged, with quite a few dark, sweet and slightly roasted notes. A fairly classic rum from Guyana, which will stand out better in mixology than neat in the glass.
