How does this rum taste?
The FRC Ecuador (Kirsch Whisky) is a rare, cask-strength rum from the Romero & Sons distillery. Distilled in 1973 and aged for 50 years, it showcases notes of vanilla, chocolate, and caramel in its aroma, while the palate features spicy, chocolate, nutty, and oak undertones. Despite its impressive aging process and limited availability of just 195 bottles, reviews suggest it falls short in complexity and overall satisfaction, with some describing it as too sweet and flat. The alcohol presence is notable, with some users finding it harsh. While possessing an appealing chocolate note, expectations of depth from its significant age are not fully met, according to users.

Franconian Tasting Gang If only with cola and ice. Edit: Unfortunately I have to retract this statement. I think it's pretty much the only rum and coke I've ever thrown away because I couldn't get it down.
#5006 29.12.2024 Relaxing with an older sample I had on the shelf. Nose Light wood, light roasted, dried fruit, faint nutts, faint floral, spice, light caramel. Palate Light, light wood, dried fruit, spice, lightly sweet, faint chocolate, light nutts, medium spicy, faint floral, light caramel. Finish Medium long, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, light chocolate, light caramel, light nutts. The empty glass has light prunes, light cherry and a faint earthy note.
The next FRC. Again a little too sweet, but not as bad as the previous one. Again vanilla, caramel and dark chocolate on the nose and palate. Also quite spicy and slightly alcoholic on the palate.
Sugar, musty wood, herbs - unfortunately not much fun.
