Château du Breuil Ron Aldea Rum Explorer Canaries
Most RumX tasters recommend this for its orange peel and spice, but highlight its simple character and slightly sharp alcohol finish. One to try if you enjoy easy-going, citrus-forward spirits.
Fresh, orangey and spicy; gentle sweetness, a bit hot.

How does this rum taste?
- Fresh and a bit spicy
- Hauch Vanille und Karamell
- Round and sweet with an aftertaste
Rum Explorer Canaries gets noticed for its zesty citrus and orange notes, a gentle sweep of caramel and vanilla, and a flicker of spices. The fresh nose comes across as "a little bit alcoholic but mostly fruity" (rum_sk), while the palate leans towards young wood, black pepper—and often a wave of sweetness. "Velvetty/waxy mouthfeel" with honey and burnt caramel pop up, though a recurring theme is the "alcoholic finish" (Robert Houba) that can crowd out subtler flavors. Not much fuss here, but a few find the combo of grassy, orangey notes and a light, round profile appealing.

"To finish the "24 days of rum" calendar, I'm going to do 4-5 samples each day. In the nose I found burnt caramel and and spices. In the notes, more spicyness and hints of tobacco. Could enjoy this one more, with a higer ABV"
"Tried a few Ron Aldea's. I like em. Mostly well aged rums. No sugar. First nosing: very light. Some bitter orange notes. Honey. Very subtle Taste: somewhat velvetty/waxy mouthfeel. Bourbon oak. Vanilla. Buttery. Interesting. Very different than I expected. Honeycomb. Definitely underperforming...but not bad at all"
