“Dieser T.D.L 2005 sagt mir so gar nicht zu. Der ist mir eindeutig zu torfig und Whisylastig. Zwar sind auch ein paar dreckig- minzige Caroninoten dabei (die ich eigentlich sehr mag), die jedoch das Torfige nicht wettmachen können. Der Alkohol ist sehr gut eingebunden und kaum wahrnehmbar. Ich vermute, dass man diese Abfüllung entweder liebt oder hasst”

“Un véritable OVNI parmi les TDL. Cet embouteillage de chez Swell de Spirits propose quelque chose qu’on ne retrouve pas d’ordinaire, et cela a le mérite d’être souligné. Le nez est perturbant, avec des notes de tourbe, de fumé, des notes pétrolifères sur l’essence, un chêne épicé et pimenté et un brin de sel. Il dégage aussi une aura caoutchouteuse, mentholée et terreuse. L’ombre du fût de Caroni fait son effet ici. Original, complexe et très intriguant. En bouche, le profil reste fidèle à l’image du nez, et tout aussi perturbant : la tourbe est très présente, suivie de notes fumées, d’hydrocarbures, de tabac, d’herbes, de menthol et de boisé rôti avec des épices. La finition en fût de Caroni apporte ici une réelle plus value. C’est un profil loufoque, qu’on aime ou on déteste, mais qui ne laisse pas indifférent. L’alcool est bien intégré. La finale est longue. Elle tapisse la bouche de son empreinte tourbée, fumée, sale et épicée, avec des arômes herbacées et une pointe de caramel qui apporte une légère touche de sucre à cet ensemble bien trempé. Un profil difficile d’approche, mais dont on ne peut que saluer la prise de risque et l’originalité qui en font un rhum captivant. Swell de Spirits dévoile une facette totalement inédite des TDL, qui étend le champ des possibles pour l’avenir.”

“Interessantes Geschmackserlebnis, der torfige Grundton findet im TDL-Profil natürlich einen kraftvollen Gegenspieler, was dazu führt, dass hier im Aromenspektrum noch deutlich mehr passiert als bloss Rauchigkeit - wobei selbige natürlich trotzdem eine Hauptrolle einnimmt. Frische Minze, Tee- und Holzaromen, dezente Früchte und die genannten Torfnoten bilden hier eine interessante Melange, die eine spannende Ergänzung im Spektrum der Post-2000er TDLs bietet.”
