How does this rum taste?
Most love the rich dried fruits, chocolate and integrated wood with a long, warm finish. A minority find it too reduced or a bit light. Consensus: a very good, balanced J.M millésime.
If you like balanced, cask-aged agricoles like J.M 2008 or Clement millésimes, this hits the same dried-fruit-and-wood groove in a softer, easy-sipping package.
Those wanting high-proof intensity, very sweet rums, or big grassy/agricole character; also not ideal for drinkers who dislike noticeable oak and spice.

Nose: gourmet and delicate, with notes of candied fruit. Scents of dark chocolate orangette, split vanilla bean and roasted tonka bean give it a gourmand quality. Palate: powerful and round, with notes of candied fruit such as orange, pineapple and fig. It evolves gracefully on vanilla and cinnamon. A smooth woody note wraps the whole harmoniously. Finish: powerful, with notes of toast and vanilla. Source : Rhum J.M
On the nose red fruits, wood, roasted, spices . On the palate the same rounded notes and a medium, enveloping finish
A rum tasted at Rhum Fest in 2024. A lovely nose of citrus (lime) and tropical fruits, cocoa and spices. The palate is not to be outdone, with figs and red fruits. The wood is very well integrated. Long, fruity finish.
The first rhum on our trip to Martinique. Bought in Carrefour for about 75 EUR. I don't know if it's the environment, but it's a great bottling, wood, dates, fruitiness, coffee, the strong agricole flavour is overpowered (very tasty) by the ex-bourbon cask. It's going to be a great week here!
