The "Kill Devil Guyana" was produced in Guyana at the Diamond distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Hunter Laing. It was distilled in 1999 from Molasses with a Pot Still and then aged for 23 years. The rum has an ABV of 62,9%. Both on the nose and on the palate, a lot of this rum takes place in the rather extreme flavors - the rum challenges, jumps from bone-dry medicinal notes to tart-bitter wood influences, almost boasts with rich salt liquor, only to then flash a hint of caramel and vanilla in the next sip. For me, the rum becomes more interesting with each new attempt, because the flavor spectrum is so versatile and always reveals new facets. In itself not fully my preferred type of rum, but still very impressive. An inspiringly intense release.
Heavenly nose. On the palate, intense, complex and with real punch - in the positive sense. Makes really fun!
