J. Bally Millésime 1970
Highly praised vintage agricole: elegant, complex and surprisingly full-bodied at 45%, with dried fruits, caramel, chocolate, fine wood and floral-herbal notes. A benchmark old Bally for enthusiasts.
Agricole lovers and vintage hunters who enjoy elegant, dry, woody-fruity rums with herbal and chocolate notes rather than high-ester funk or heavy sweetness.

How does this rum taste?
Elegant old-school Bally agricole
If you enjoy classic Bally or aged agricoles with finesse over power, this vintage is a rare chance to taste that style at its peak—subtle, complex and deeply nostalgic.
Beginners, value seekers and those who prefer sweet, high-ABV or intensely funky profiles; the subtle, dry style and price won’t fit every palate or budget.

A very, very elegant Bally. Dryed flower petals thyme-honey. And a nice malty finish. This is really from a different era and is gone in a sense of not being produced anymore. But this is subtle and lovely
I killed this bottle last year and I'm inclined to buy a new one though the price has gone past 1000 euro. Lightly fruity with a warm and spiced palate. There is a bit of caramel and chocolate in there as well and if you leave the glass for the following day it's very clear.
I Bally delle vecchie annate sono incredibili! Intensi e fruttati nonostante la bassa gradazione!
The emotion of drinking an aged rum, even if it has spent most of its life in the bottle. A very dry nose with a slight earthiness and vanilla. Lots of finesse and elegance throughout. Tropical fruit on the palate, pineapple and banana. A surprisingly long finish, with sugarcane and fruit. I'm sure the rum continues to evolve in bottle. Not as strong as the Courcelles 1972 at 47% and 54%, which have a broader aromatic palette, but a very fine rum all the same.
