“#4206 Wow, this is a bomb of flavours. I rested it for 30 minutes before giving it a go because it's pretty powerful when poured. Pretty fresh and intense with fruits and light wood and spice. I like the light smoky and marzipan note in the profile. The palate is dry and warm and pretty well balanced. The empty glass has some light coconut and nutty notes.”

“L’expression du Genesis version XO change radicalement de ses prédécesseurs. Alors que l’ambré et le vieux sont particulièrement belliqueux, cette version est bien plus élégante et raffinée, tout en conservant un caractère bien trempé. Le nez offre une multitude d’arômes d’une douceur sans pareille : praline, massepain, caramel, crème brûlée, noisette, chocolat, moka et muscade étoffent le profil d’une grande gourmandise olfactive. Le tabac, le boisé fumé et les fruits (secs et tropicaux notamment) confirment un profil aux facettes multiples et très agréables. L’attaque en bouche rappelle tout de même qu’on a affaire avec un rhum à plus de 70 degrés. Le chêne fumé, le piment et le cuir assèchent le profil, qui se veut plus vif et chaud. Les fruits, la canne à sucre et les noix permettent d’équilibrer l’ensemble, qui se veut assez homogène. L’alcool y est bien intégré, mais attention à la gorgée de travers. La finale, longue, chaude, intense et pimentée, est à l’image de ce que ce Longueteau à offrir : un profil riche et exaltant, puissant et élégant. La vanille et la crème brûlée se joue des notes herbacées et des fruits pour se hisser aux côtés des épices et du boisé en fin de bouche. Un rhum percutant et pourtant bien construit, qui laissera toutefois un goût amer pour son prix très au-dessus de la moyenne.”
