Just impressive! Aromatic intensity like I've rarely tasted. Extremely complex, with power at the start, which then opens up on the palate with notes of banana, exotic fruit and sugar cane! With a warmth that rises to a crescendo on the palate. The long, slightly saline finish balances everything out. To be enjoyed in small, gentle sips.
This Longueteau Genesis Blanc batch 4 from the Esperance distillery in Guadeloupe is produced from red cane, grown on plot No. 9 at the habitation. It’s from the 2020 harvest and has rested for 2 years and some months after its distillation in a stainless tank aerated regularly. Thereafter is this brut de colonne bottled without any reduction at 73,8% in 5000 bottles. The nose is powerful, round, fruity and a bit medicinal with scents of pepper, salt and iodine. At the palate it’s complex, fresh, acidic and a little bitter with flavors of salt, lemon, lime zest and raspberry. The finish is long, fresh and dry with flavors of herbs, pepper, licorice and raspberry. Overall one of the best Agricole Blanc I’ve tasted so far.
74 laBdR juin 2023. 65 tonneau Impressionnant: très puissant, gras, et bon ! Ça chauffe - Ça chauffe, et c'est bon - c'est bon ! Nez: Très canne fraîche et citron, on ne sent pas trop l'alcool, très doux, semble à peine un 50dg (un très bon). Bouche : ça y est ça chauffe sérieusement ! mais un régal. Très gras, explosion de saveurs, fruitées, agrumes, pas amer, belle réussite. Grosse longueur, douce sur la canne fraîche.
A fire of God. Its title of Brut de Colonnes is a real surprise. Notes of banana, sugar cane, and after the fire of this high degree of alcohol, a roundness of fruit and floral, happy to be one of the 5000 to be able to re-discover it over the next few tastings.
