This rum from the Swedish company Brands For Fans containing 8yo Solera rum from Dom. Rep. The rum was released 2018 around three years after the band disbanded. The bands last drummer, the Swede Micky Dee was heavily involved in the development. The rum has won several medals since the introduction, but I think it’s too sweet especially during the medium long finish. With a higher ABV it should in my opinion been better.
a good rum, better than average 😋
A spicy smell, coffee, molasses. The taste is spicy, slightly spicy and sweet, of malt and dark chocolate.
I really like these spanish style soleras and this one does not dissapoint. Raisins, vanilla and sweet molasses on the nose. Same flavours comes through on the palate with some woody notes and dark chocolate. I’m also getting some port, very nice subtle notes. This would have really been a top class rum if the abv was higher than 40% but still a good rum.
