How does this rum taste?
- Pleasant woody and spicy profile
- Long and dry finish
- Distinct vanilla notes
The Domaine de Séverin XO is a Guadeloupe rum distilled from sugar cane juice with a column still and aged for six years. With an ABV of 45%, it presents a pronounced woody and spicy character, accompanied by notes of vanilla and oak. Users commend its fruity undertones and appreciate its long, dry finish. However, some find it slightly lacking in complexity and distinctive identity compared to other agricole rums. The rum's nose features vanilla, woody, and prune notes, reminiscent of cognac, while its palate highlights woody and spicy flavors with hints of banana. Overall, it's considered a pleasant sipping rum with a few polarizing characteristics.

"The finish is quite long, dry and spicy. I’m a fan of Agricole from Guadeloupe and this one is not an exception, but it can’t compete with the best ones."

"Très végétal, la canne reste très présente, c'en est surprenant pour un Xo d'ailleurs. Au final ça manque un peu de complexité. C'est pas mal mais sans plus."

"Here you get what you pay for. Fruity and sweet with spices and lightly roasted wood. I would probably use this one for mixers and baking."

"Arf, nez sympa avec une petite poire cognac qui fait plaisir, bouche un peu simple mais efficace, par contre la finale est super courte. On a vite une impression de rhum un peu plat et sans grand intérêt… manquait pas grand chose !"
