"Tasted as part of the RA online tasting for the RumX lottery 06/2023. A PLV monster! Very, very fruity on the nose. The sherry influence comes into play relatively late. The icing on the cake: Smell of a fresh sea breeze. Delicious! The rum is explosive on the palate, but not at all fizzy despite being almost 70%. A nice new bottling that appeals."

"RumX Lottery June 23, RA online tasting. So this is the first of the Burke's Elements series. Water, because powerful like water, but at the same time flowing around ... or so... Nose: Ester! Banana, pineapple, vinegar and solvent. The 2 years in a 400 l sherry cask are not yet so noticeable on the nose. In my opinion, this can't have been a sweet sherry cask, or at least not a new one. On the finish, however, it becomes a little more "musty". That's the sherry influence after all. Good nose overall. 7,8 Palate: dry and astringent before the esters come through. Sweet, overripe banana with solvent. Sherry comes through here too, but only very slightly. These are the somewhat musty aromas. Some pineapple marzipan at the back. Nothing more, but that's enough. A good thing that does what it should. 7,8 A great mixer with a super PLV. I usually use RumFire for daiquiris, but I can imagine using this one for that too..."
