"RumX Lottery June 23, RA online tasting. So this is the first of the Burke's Elements series. Water, because powerful like water, but at the same time flowing around ... or so... Nose: Ester! Banana, pineapple, vinegar and solvent. The 2 years in a 400 l sherry cask are not yet so noticeable on the nose. In my opinion, this can't have been a sweet sherry cask, or at least not a new one. On the finish, however, it becomes a little more "musty". That's the sherry influence after all. Good nose overall. 7,8 Palate: dry and astringent before the esters come through. Sweet, overripe banana with solvent. Sherry comes through here too, but only very slightly. These are the somewhat musty aromas. Some pineapple marzipan at the back. Nothing more, but that's enough. A good thing that does what it should. 7,8 A great mixer with a super PLV. I usually use RumFire for daiquiris, but I can imagine using this one for that too..."
