How does this rum taste?
A truly unique and gentle Long Pond, with a mix of cappuccino, chocolate, overripe bananas, and spicy-sweet aromas. While some desired a stronger punch, its balanced fruity and woody notes satisfy, though some find it too mild.

“#4216 This ibe is better than its brother from Clarendon but I would again have loved a higher ABV. Fruity with some esters and wood all in good balance. Draws very nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has some herbs and spices.”

“A rather aged Long Pond of surprising sweetness. The nose unveils dry spices, aniseed and vanilla, before releasing a salvo of exotic and candied fruits, as well as a rather greedy dose of esters and glue. Caramel adds a touch of sweetness to this fairly soft, round profile in the nostrils. But you'd expect a bit more from a rum like this and from Decandent Drinks. On the palate, the elements of the nose resurface, but with greater intensity. Tropical fruit and citrus are a little more pronounced, but still dominated by spices (vanilla, licorice, pepper, cloves) and that honeyed, caramelized touch that softens the palate considerably. Wood, roast, glue and esters add a little character. The alcohol is rather docile and this cuvée would have deserved a few extra degrees. The finish pays the price for the sweetness of the juice, with relatively short longevity. Nonetheless, it remains pleasant, with woody, roasted notes, cappuccino and spices on pepper, vanilla and licorice. Fruity, phenolic and caramelized notes lend roundness to this light, warm profile. A pleasant cuvée, but unfortunately not worth the price.”

“Really nice and unusual Long Pond! Cappuccino and milk chocolate meets overripe bananas, tart pineapple and some olive brine. Exciting number! Despite the rather low alcohol content surprisingly intense and complex!”
