The bitter-free cask creates a toasty mood, on which the rather restrained esters with their fruity notes and hints of brand-new bicycle inner tubes combine with vanilla and caramel as well as roasted elements to create a decidedly pleasing rum, which only loses a few points due to its dilution.
Blind Fiji rum tasting
On The Rocks: On the nose a mild alcohol punch with strong citrus fruit and floral notes. Taste reveals a moderate fruit and floral medicinal like flavour with a delayed burn and spice undertones. Finish is medium with the spice continuing to linger. Mixed Pepsi Zero: On the nose moderate sweet citrus. Taste reveals a more medicinal citrus and spice and oak flavour. Finish is short with the citrus fading away. Not really enjoyable mixed.
