05.04.2024 Mount Gay Extreme Rare online tasting mit Dirk. Retasting and I stick to my initial score. Nose Light, elegant, roasted, wood, sherry, fruity, dried fruit. Palate Smooth, oily, fruity, berries, light coffee, light ginger, light wood, tannins, medium dry,. Finish Medium to long, wood, tannins, balanced, oily, prunes, medium dry. Really nice sipper. However, excessively overpriced.
Fierce! Despite only 45% such extraordinary aromas on the nose, very round and balanced. In the mouth it continues in the same way, but here the rum weakens due to the low ABV. Nevertheless, delicious aromas. I actually rate the rum at 9/10, but I have to deduct a few points for the 45%. If you want, you can also deduct points for the price going through the roof. Every release in Mount Gay's Master Blender series has become more expensive, regardless of the frame dates. Too bad!
