Foursquare ECS XXIII Covenant 2005
Highly praised ECS release with classic bourbon‑cask Foursquare notes, smooth integration for 58% and a long, warm, wood‑spice finish that rewards fans of mature, oak‑driven Barbados rum.
Fans of dry, oak‑forward Barbados rums who enjoy higher ABV sippers with coconut, vanilla, caramel and roasted wood more than bright fruit or heavy funk.

How does this rum taste?
Mature, dry and seriously oaky Foursquare
If you enjoy ECS releases like Isonomy or Sovereignty for their dry bourbon‑cask style, Covenant gives you that classic profile with extra age and wood intensity.
Newcomers, those sensitive to 58% ABV, or drinkers who dislike firm tannins and a drier, wood‑driven profile in their rum.

Big honey explosion on the palate followed by some barrel influence.
My favourite Foursquare rums are the ones aged in Ex-Bourbon casks, period. This 18 yr old rum does not disappoint, simply delicious. At 58% ABV it is so smooth. Another 10/10 from Richard Seale. I had 2 bottles of this and hesitated to open one, now I have to keep an eye out for FS Covenant.
Almost has a little bit of a tropically matured Diamond on the nose. Glue, dried fruit, spices, coconut and a pleasant sweetness. I really like it. Lots of spices, wood and bitterness on the palate, which is also present in the finish. I'm looking forward to a direct comparison with the Isonomy.
