How does this rum taste?
The Long Pond ITP 1998 Rum, aged for 25 years, offers a distinctive Jamaican profile. Bottled by Rest & Be Thankful, this rum presents a vibrant aromatic bouquet of citrus, vanilla, esters, and a touch of tropical fruit. Tasting notes highlight tropical fruits, nutty and spicy elements, with nuances of vanilla and wood integrating well. It carries a 54.7% ABV, offering a balance of natural sweetness with underlying roasted and woody notes. Though appreciated for its smooth complexity and fruity profile, it can also be perceived as somewhat overpriced and lacking in the extreme depth that some Jamaican rums provide. Nonetheless, it remains a unique expression favored for its long aging and potent flavor profile. This rum is valued in the RumX marketplace and review community.

Schönes Ding, bei dem sich Röstaromen und Fruchtaromen die Klinke in die Hand geben und das begleitet von einer Band, die im Hintergrund leichten Funk spielt. Gefällt mir gut, aber der Preis wird auch wieder gaga sein, oder?! (hab noch nicht geschaut. Jetzt hab ich geschaut, und für den Preis sag ich auch...) 86/100 oder 6/10
Sehr runde Nase, die mir gut gefällt. Toffee, Schokolade, gute Ladung Früchte, Vanille, Röstaromen, nussig. Im Mund lecker und mit natürlicher Süß, die sich im Abgang weiterzieht und in ein komplexes Bild mündet. Schokolade, Tee, Vanille, Holz. Top!
Kommt in der Nase tatsächlich leichter, aber chemischer daher als der AHJ. Zitrusfrüchte statt überreifem Matsch. Je Luft, desto Nagellack. Überraus süß am Gaumen, dunkle Noten bis hin zu Nuss - bevor es dann wirklich in Richtung Nagellack & Co. geht. Sehr spannend, sehr vielschichtig.
