How does this rum taste?

Aromas of wood, cocoa and banana lead to vanilla, tropical fruit and caramel, layered with smoky, rubber and tobacco hints. Nose is very nice with just the right amount of dirt, smokeyness and some fruits and sweetness - well balanced. Same sensation on the palate. Very good cask out of the 98 vintage - intense yet well balanced. The influence of the bourbon cask is quite pronounced.
Oh man, was ein geiler Rum, auf jeden Fall noch etwas besser als der andere Caroni von Swell de Spirits. Dafür nochmals danke an Mika. Aber schöne Schokonote, irgendwie einfach fast perfekt dieser Rum. Lecker...
Wir kommen im Tasting zu den Schwergewichten. Ja, an der Nase fein angekokelte Autoreifen. Aber am Gaumen hat er mir einen Ticken zu viel Süße, um gegen die parallel verkosteten Schwergewichte zu bestehen.
#4165 This is a very nice and subtle Caroni that has a very good balance both in the flavours and the ABV. Love the fruity bit and that the Caroni flavours develop while it rests.
