“Papa Rouyo continue son ascension avec ce premier rhum vieux plein de promesses. Au nez, le chêne toasté permet aux épices de s’exprimer aux côtés des fruits secs et à coque. La canne à sucre, mielleuse et fraîche, donne de l’onctuosité aux narines, équilibrant le nez avec les notes terreuses, florales et les arômes de tabac. Le profil est harmonieux et passe très bien. En bouche, la fraîcheur de la terre et des végétaux se fait ressentir. Le fût de chêne, les noix torréfiées et les épices offrent quelque chose d’assez gourmand et savoureux, auquel s’ajoutent les fruits secs, le caramel et la canne à sucre. Le profil se veut sec mais plutôt bien équilibré. L’alcool est bien intégré, les 46% sonnent juste. La finale est de longueur correcte. On y retrouve les notes torréfiées, les épices (piment, poivre, vanille), le chêne, le tabac et les notes légèrement terreuses et végétales. Canne à sucre, caramel et fruits secs sont également de la partie. Un rhum vieux qui a du potentiel, hâte de voir ce que la distillerie peut proposer sur des profils plus âgés.”
