“Had the opportunity to try a very small sample of this, so my review is based on an initial, rudimentary impression and a quick memorative comparison to similar profiles. On scoring I built in reasonable restraint in an attempt to not embellish, over- or understate the experience. Typical condensed profile on the nose, but explosive on the palate. Rich in dried fruits, wood, mint, eucalyptus and graciously salted. It’s less spicy and dirty than usual. It trades some of the petrolized notes for candied fruits and what I -perhaps ungraciously- call ‘forest notes’, such as old pines, resin and undergrowth. Red fruits, wood and mint linger extensively making this an excellent dram and lengthy experience. Admittedly this is one of my favourite profiles.”
