The Wagemut Special Edition 2023, crafted at Barbados' renowned Foursquare distillery, offers a robust profile with its 61.9% cask strength. Aged for 12 years, this limited edition (1339 bottles) showcases a complex aroma of cherry, caramel, and wood with subtle rhubarb and spice. The palate reveals smoky notes with cherry, candied fruits, and a hint of sweetness. While its high alcohol content demands cautious sipping, the rum's dynamic sherry and wood influences stand out, making it a distinctive selection within the Selected Cask Community series. However, some find the finish slightly underwhelming when compared to its initial impact.

Geniales Zeug…fühlt sich erst wie Likör an, dann kommen aber 62 Volt! Gefolgt von Captain Ahabs Holzbein Aroma, darauf dann aber warme Sherry-süße. Bleibt extrem lang im Mund. Man muss aber Holz mögen…das dominiert!
A great Barbados with a certain sweetness that you have to like. With enough power for a nice sip of pleasure without putting the sherry too much in the foreground this time.
Für mich die beste Selected Cask Abfüllung. Trotz hoher Prozente sehr weich und eine schöne leichte Süße
Wieder ein etwas untypischer Foursquare. An der Nase eine leicht rauchige/speckige Note, die sich am Gaumen fortsetzt und gut mit der Süße harmoniert. Gefällt mir besser als sein jüngerer 10y Bruder RX13191 mit der Oliven-(fast Fehl-)Note. Bleibt leider im Abgang etwas blass und eindimensional. Kann man kaufen, muss man aber nicht.
