The "Flensburg Rum Company Ecuador" was produced in Ecuador at the Licores Americano Estate distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Oldman Spirits GmbH. It was distilled in 2018 from Molasses with a Pot Still and then aged for 5 years. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 63,2%. "Bei Sönke probiert und von der Tiefe eines so jungen Rums aus Ecuador überrascht. Durfte netterweise ein kleines Sample schnorren. Nase: interessant und gar nicht so leicht zu entschlüsseln. Hat für mich zunächst etwas von Küchenrolle, Karton und jungem, noch frischen Geäst. Leicht süßlich, mit grünem Apfel ist er doch eher auf der pflanzlichen Seite. Getrocknete Kamille mit Moos und süßen Kräutern. Hinten noch etwas Kakaopulver. 7,7 Gaumen: ebenfalls anders, intensiv und interessant. Zunächst süßlich-nussig, Tonkabohne und Pekannuss. Dazu Kakao und leicht schokoladig oder auch Nougat. Zudem spielt etwas Liebstöckel hinein, bevor Kamille, Kräuter und Herz übernehmen. Tatsächlich finde ich Geranie am Ende. Hatte so etwas noch nicht, bin angenehm überrascht. 8,1"
"Heute Abend zum 2. Mal probiert und ich korrigiere ihn 0.2 Punkte nach oben. Trotz seines jungen Alters finde ich ihn relativ komplex und intensiv mit einem langen Nachklang. Aromen von Apfel und Zitronenschalen. Würzig, erdigE und pflanzliche Noten. Der Alkohol der mir in die Nase steigt erinnert mich an eine Mischung aus Weißwein und Agricole. Am Gaumen dann hauptsächlich Agricole, Milchschokolade, Würze, nussig und eine leichte Süße. Im langen Nachklang dominieren pflanzliche Noten von Heu. Schöner Rum mit einem guten Preisleistungsverhältnis."
