“Tasted at the WLP in 2023 and a sample from Jakob (thanks!). A classic 1996 nose with lots of depth, the machine shop notes balanced with very expressive fruit. Slightly less pleasant aromas of smoky oak and overripe mango. Wow! A super-expressive palate. Everything is in place and the evolution on the palate is smooth, complex and satisfying. A loooong finish! With woody and slightly smoky notes, discreet until now. A very fine, assertive rum, elegant and harmonious. The woodiness/smokiness is very present when the glass is empty, but all the aromas are equally present.”
