Joh. Eggers Sohn & Co. Eggers Batavia Arrac Verschnitt
Smoky vanilla nose, but alcohol-forward and faint on palate.
The aroma shows promise with vanilla, smoke, and subtle fruits, but the taste leans heavily towards alcohol and metallic notes, with little of the nose’s complexity remaining. Reviews from RumX tasters are consistently underwhelmed—suggesting it’s mainly for the most adventurous palate.

How does this rum taste?
Vanilla and smoky notes make the nose of Eggers Batavia Arrac Verschnitt particularly inviting, hinting at pear and yellow fruits beneath. However, the palate is dominated by sharp alcohol and metallic tones with only fleeting fruit and green pepper. This bottling may be best suited for collectors or spirit historians curious about arrack’s traditional profile. Consider a taste if you’re exploring unique historical spirits.

Even though Eggers is a big name, alas that did not save them. A nice nose of typical and some sweet arrac profile. T But then on the palate it looses you completely. An underwhelming Punsch and nothing to be bought
Arra(c)k 2.0 tasting by Artur. A spicy nose with pepper, smoke and tropical fruit, but also a buttery sweetness. The palate is diluted and the alcohol is present. Sour apple, wood, smoke and very few aromas. The finish is short, marked by neutral alcohol. This arrack has the best nose of the first 4, but the palate is very weak, very close to neutral alcohol.
