Admittedly: 50% of the purchase decision here was the label. I stand by it. Love it.The other 50% were curiosity. Australians are known to me so far as quite edgy - so I was interested in how the barrels affect here.In the nose comes from which also directly very much through. Raisins, fig, sherry and fruitiness full. Quite juicy fruit schnapps, glue.On the palate, a refreshingly different picture emerges. Less sweet than expected, but thicker than expected. While in the first half briefly toasty approaches, a touch of chocolate and wood sloshing up the whole changes quite quickly to broad fruitiness, light raisin and fig and juicy fruit. After that it moves towards pear brandy, more sherry and a hint of floral notes.Somewhere around here the finish sets in which definitely has spiciness but a really pleasant mouthfeel. Less alcohol, more approaches of menthol. For me a hit, I like it. Who stands on sherry stories can strike here without hesitation.
Less sweet than expected. Is good to drink in between
Wow, this is new! Never had some rum with this kind of flavour and smell... Intriguing. Not sure I like it for daily sipping, but it is tasty nonetheless. Herbal, sweet, fruity... More complex than I first thought.
