“Un Hampden léger et distillé en colonne pour un profil plus subtil. Le nez est dominant sur les fruits tropicaux mûrs (banane, ananas et mangue) mais laisse percevoir un voile d’esters assez fin, accompagné d’un boisé qui a légèrement marqué le rhum. Un nez délicat mais qui manque un peu de tonicité. On reste dans la subtilité en bouche. Les fruits exotiques prennent le pas, avant qu’un léger boisé et une touche de vanille ne fassent leur entrée. Les notes acidulées d’agrumes et les tanins sont également de la partie. Une association assez classique au tempérament plutôt calme malgré le degré affiché. La finale tire un peu plus sur les notes phénoliques et médicinales. Les fruits et le bois suivent en arrière-plan. C’est un peu plus sec mais toujours accessible. Un Hampden clairement fait pour varier des profils high ester. Il n’est pas mal fait mais il manque quelque chose pour être vraiment au top niveau.”
