“A brut de fût Hispanic rum. The profile is fairly classic, with chocolate and caramelized sweetness on a woody, spicy and toasty background. A few dried fruits also make their presence felt. A dry olfactory profile, simple but effective. On the palate, the dark (toasty wood), gourmand (chocolate, caramel) and spicy side of Hispanic rums returns in full force, but with a little more intensity. The 60.7% could be a little better integrated. The whole has a little more character, but lacks depth and complexity. The finish is relatively short, with a spicy, toasty, woody and caramelized framework. Although not bad, this rum is falling into disuse due to its lack of consistency, despite a promising initial profile.”
