“A nice surprise among Rum Runner's releases. The nose is very fragrant, with beautiful spicy, woody and roasted flavors that combine for a good dose of gourmandise. Exotic fruits and floral notes play spoilsport and add freshness. A very aromatic and pleasant profile. The palate is very unctuous. The fruitiness of coconut, papaya and dried fruit returns, while the darker side gradually takes over with notes of tobacco, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, nutmeg and toast. The oak is well blended and the alcohol very well integrated. The profile remains tasty throughout. The finish is a little drier and more tannic, but lingers on with the greediness of Demerara rums, both expressive and full-bodied. A very good modern-day Diamond.”
