Brett. Citrus and bright fruit. Blind never guessed Australia in my life. This one will please the aficionados among you. So those who like it kräääftig.

The nose is very fruity, intense citrus and yellow fruit, the palate loses something, initially a heavy honey sweetness that changes to a spicy and unfortunately somewhat alcoholic side, the finish is toasty, woody spicy.

In der Nase noch sehr zurückhaltend...kommt am Gaumen schon deutlich mehr an . Super Fruchtig und für das hohe ABV wirklich gut trinkbar.

Der Alkohol ist super gut eingebunden, natürlich ist er schon sehr kräftig aber das gleichen die gelben Früchte super aus.

Wie Gunnar schon sagt - wenn man nicht weiß, was man da im Glas hat, kommt man erst mal nicht auch Australien. Der Rum ist wunderbar fruchtig - oder eher blumig - hat in der Nase schon eher was von Apfel und Trester/Traubenbrand/Cognac. Im Mund dominiert für mich dann tatsächlich stark grüner Apfel, dass ich ihn erst mal mit einem Calvados vergleichen musste und blind würde ich hier tatsächlich eher auf Calvados als auf Rum tippen. Nur der Abgang ist leider etwas kurz geraten. Ich muss tatsächlich zugeben, dass ich mittlerweile ein großer Fan der Rumclubabfüllungen bin, da sie immer wieder mit für mich einzigartigen Kanten und Geschmacksnuancen aufwarten. Und auch diese Abfüllung ist wieder Außergewöhnlich geworden. Für 5 Euro weniger, als der Australier von letztem/vorletztem Jahr besteht hier meiner Meinung nach aber eine riesige Diskrepanz im PLV. Natürlich ist er geschmacklich etwas ganz Anderes, vermisst aber meiner Meinung nach für den Preis Tiefe, die aber wiederum evtl auch gar nicht zu seinem Geschmacksprofil passt. Die Nr 20 hat hier mit 14 Jahren ganz kar die Nase vorn, was Intensität, Komplexität, Tiefe und Abgang angeht und er muss hier auch als Referenz für die Bewertung herhalten. Ich weiß natürlich nicht, was für Kosten hinter so einem Rum stecken und verstehe auch sehr gut, dass man als Händler Geld damit verdienen möchte, soll und auch darf - für meinen Geschmack fällt mir hier nur ein riesiger Unterschied im Plv zur Rumclub Nr 20 als Benchmark auf.

Etwas weniger komplex als die 2007er Beenleighs, mit deutlichen Anklängen an Fruchtschnaps. Alkohol ist gut eingebunden, aber in Summe kein Rum, von dem ich eine ganze Flasche bräuchte.
