The smell was a lot more promising, or sweeter and warming smells. The taste was heavy in spice, and prominent in alcohol. Adding some lime definitely cut the heavy alcohol flavor and brought out more oak and earthy taste. Overall not very exceptional on its own, but could be good a cocktail.
