Not necessarily a huge fan of sherry finishes in rum. With the 94 NY this works quite well, however. The rum‘s DNA is still clearly noticeable. Sips very nice overall. Trying this side by side to non finished 94 NYs, the verdict remains the same. The finish is well done and adds a nice variation to the profile while preserving the inherent character.

Ich finde das Sherry Finish hier gelungen und passend. Habe die Flasche jetzt seit ein paar Wochen offen und nasche oft und gerne 🤤

Ein leckerer NY 1994 und Sherry passt durchaus gut zu dem Profil. Für mich ist aber das Ausgangsprodukt einfach kein herausragender NY 1994. Mal gespannt wie er im Mai Tai kommt. Das Design des Labels ist herausragend geil.

Nicht der Typische NY 1994 ... wie bei allen 1994ern ist auch dieser nicht wirklich direkt mit DEM Typischen Jamaica Rum assoziieren. Alkohol ist Top eingebunden. Sehr süffig , das Oloroso Finish finde ich persönlich nicht zu extrem oder sehr störend ... auch schmecke ich die Typischen NY Gene noch deutlich. Mir gefällt er ✌️

Schöne Messeabfüllung, die einen rundum gelungenen Rum darstellt. In der Nase habe Ich viel Karamell, aber auch muffige Holztöne, wie bei alten Armagnacs aus feuchten Kellern. Im Mund dann Parallelen zum Rum Nation Clarendon 1991 (RX 1012). Das Sherry Fass kommt sehr dezent durch, aber dennoch spürbar. Ansonsten die üblichen Eichenholz/Vanille-Töne mit etwas roten Früchten. Toller süffiger, fast leichter Gesamteindruck trotz der hohen %%. Viel Fasseinfluss ohne zu bitter zu sein durch die hohe Lagerung. Im Abgang schön lang und fördert den Speichelfluss. Alles in allem fehlt mir aber noch ein Aha-Moment mit dem Rum. Er ist sehr gut gearbeitet und toll ausgesucht, aber nichts woran Ich mich in einer Woche erinnern werden. Gerechtfertigtes PLV mit tollem Flaschendesign.

Zusammen mit dem 1994er New Yarmouth FRC für The Bottle Shop verkostet. Auf der Messe hatte ich noch den Eindruck, dsss das Sherry-Finish zu aufdringlich und eher unnötig wäre. Jetzt finde ich es eher angenehm.

Muss ihn nochmal probieren, aber er hat mich einfach abgeholt, werde nachberichten. Bin einfach nur geflasht. Sehr gut... Hab nochmal probiert und nach einiger Zeit ein paar Tröpfchen Wasser dazu gegeben. Da entwickelt er sich nochmal und wird noch runder als er schon ist. Edit: Nachdem ich nun fünf New Yarmouth Abfüllungen gegeneinander Antreten hab lassen und er da "nur" den 3.Platz belegt hat, korrigiere ich ihn 0.1 Punkte nach unten.

I like this 1994 NYE expression a lot. Sherry cask works very well with this rum and the alcohol is extremely well incorporated. Not your typical Jamaican and in this case I’m totally fine with it. Already looking forward to the moment that I pour the rest of the sample.

Wow ! Einfach nur Krass - Seit dem Swell the Spirits Yarmouth bin ich stark auf diese Destillerie fixiert. Anfangs hatte ich nach dem Feedback hier schon Angst, dass er mir nicht schmecken würde und evtl hätte ihm ein anderes Fassfinish besser getan, allerdings finde ich, dass der Sherryeinfluss den Rum nur ein wenig verschließt, was man mit ein paar Tropfen Wasser wieder rückgängog machen kann. Ansonsten ist dieser Rum hier für mich eine extrem weiche und runde Aromenbombe ohne gleichen - dunkle rote Früchte, Tabak, Leder, Propolis, ein worklich sehr langer Abgang - mit diesem Rum hoer kann man wirklich viel spaß haben.

An sich ein leckerer 94er new Yarmouth aber insgesamt ist mir der Sherry Einfluss etwas zu dominant und in Abgang etwas zu bitter und scharf. Dennoch eine gute Abfüllung!

Löste beim Probieren auf der Whiskymesse einen sofortigen Kaufreflex aus. Wunderschön tropisch gereifte Noten mit vollen Aromen und einem ausgeprägten Mundgefühl. Die gut 67% spürt man nicht! Laaang im Abgang. Wahnsinnig gut (trinkbar) und der große gereiftere Bruder vom Flensburg 94er.

Toller 94er New Yarmouth. Das Sherryfinish überlagert in keinster Weise sondern rundet das Profil sehr schön ab. Darüber hinaus hält es die leicht vorherrschende Bitterkeit im Zaum. Der Alkohol ist mit über 67% perfekt eingebunden. Die Zugabe von Wasser kann obligatorisch erfolgen, es verändert das Profil nicht, sondern mildert lediglich die acetonische Schärfe.
