“Tasted quickly on the Rhumfest. To try again but not conquered. The 7 years old remains for me the most balanced of the range. We would have to compare them at the same time to get a better idea.”

“Rhum intermédiaire de la gamme permanente, ce Saint James de 9 ans d’âge se distingue par un nez d’une grande douceur, porté les épices douces, le boisé élégant, les fruits secs et la canne à sucre. Des noix et des notes toastées font leur entrée par la suite, dans la lignée de la distillerie. L’attaque en bouche se démarque par son côté terreux et herbacé, les notes de tabac, une certaine amertume et l’influence du chêne issu des fûts de cognac. Le côté boisé et épicé est également très prononcé. Le profil est sec, facile d’accès, mais pas révolutionnaire. La finale, un peu courte pour le profil, laisse virevolter les saveurs empyreumatiques et végétales, ces dernières prenant peu à peu l’ascendant durant la dégustation. Bien que cela soit un rhum tout à fait correct, il n’apporte pas grand chose entre les cuvées de 7 et 12 ans qui marquent un véritable palier dans la gamme de la distillerie.”

“"Dommage que ça ne tienne pas en bouche mais beau produit En resume, mes notes de degutation : Au nez : Vanillé En bouche : Fruits secs, Pruneaux La finale plutot orientee vers : Poivré" Je recommande quand meme par rapport a un VSOP par exemple, on a quand meme du mieux.”
