Very complex rum…. Wonderful notes of various fruits, dried fruits, chocolate, ester, leather… also a bitter and tar note, minty finish reminds me of caroni! This has so many tastes to explore, amazingA surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one 😎A very long harmonious warm finish full of various notes , round off this fantastic rum! Summary: It‘s for me one of the best rums, among which I tried so far. Alcohol is integrated very well for 67%

What for others are the Caroni vintage 1996 or the Hampden vintage 1990, is for me the New Yarmouth 1994.Absolute favorite!Compared to the Rome Deluxe, this one is a bit woodier, less fruit, less round and the alcohol stings a bit more in the mouth.Here I like the wonderful, solid maturity of the wood, unlike the fine cedar of the Agricoles, it is here oak with lots of tannin.The fitting music: "Surfin'" by Ernest Ranglin.

C'est très gourmand au nez et ne déçois vraiment pas en bouche 👌Du fruit caramelisé, toasté et légèrement pimenté. Le tout très bien équilibré❤ Un régal. Manque peut-être une réduction pour être parfait 🤔

Wahnsinnig intensiv im Geschmack. Geschmeidig und rund. Ein top Rum. Der SBS hat mehr Kokos wie der VM, der RA ist intensiver und insgesamt für mich noch ein bisschen besser als SBS und VM.

Lange hat es gedauert bis ich diesen Rum verkostet habe. Direkt pur und dazu auch noch mit 6 cl im Mai Tai. Ich finde ihn sehr spannend, aber bin etwas unter den bislang gegebenen Ratings. Innerhalb der NYE 94 aber einer der besten.

94er NY Tasting: Kill Devil, S.B.S. und RA. Der RA klar auf 1, der Kill Devil auf 2 und der S.B.S auf 3, wobei der S.B.S aufgrund des niedrigen ABV gegenüber seinen Mitstreitern weniger wuchtig wirkt. Er besitzt aber durchaus auch eine vielschichtige Nase.

Une superbe expression de ce fameux Millésime 1994 de New Yarmouth. Le nez est d’une gourmandise extrême, avec de notes pâtissières et de biscuits, du caramel, du chocolat au lait, du cappuccino, de belles épices (poivre, piment, vanille, muscade), un boisé bien fondu au profil, des notes de noisettes et des fruits secs. Une touche de noix de coco pourrait nous faire penser à ce qu’on sente un Foursquare, et pourtant il n’en est rien. Ce n’est qu’après aération que la colle et les solvants s’invente à la fête aromatique, sans prendre le dessus. Un profil olfactif absolument splendide. L’attaque en bouche est des plus impressionnantes. L’ensemble est à la fois très rond, riche, complexe, équilibré et d’une élégance rare. Les fruits exotiques (notamment la noix de coco) et les fruits secs se confrontent aux notes pâtissières, au caramel et au sucre brûlé. Le chocolat au lait, les noisettes torréfiées et le cappuccino, accompagnés par des épices douces très fines (muscade, vanille) et des notes empyreumatiques (toast, notes rôties) donnent au profil une tout autre dimension au rhum jamaïcain. L’alcool est intégré à la perfection. La finale, extrêmement longue, prolonge le plaisir gustatif sur les mêmes saveurs, avec une touche de crème brûlée et une chaleur pimentée qui réchauffent le cœur. Un nectar absolument divin, qui a tout pour plaire et qui ne demandent qu’à y replonger les narines et les lèvres pour un plaisir sans fin.

Was mir zuerst auffällt: die Nase ist super smooth trotz der fast 70% Alkohol! Das geht ja schon vielversprechend los. Sonst zeigt sich jede Menge Karamel und Trockenfrüchte. Der Rum scheint näher am spanischen Stil zu sein als am englischen. Am Gaumen zeigt sich der Alkohol sehr wohl. Aber im Einklang mit einer unglaublichen ausgewogenen Vorstellung Der Anhang ist mittellang und eher auf der röstigen Seite und erinnert mich sehr an Foursquare Patrimonio und co. Super Rum mit einem unerwartet mildem aber sehr guten Gesamteindruck.

Strong, dark, spicy, almost medicinal. Bitter, a lot of wood, behind it roasted aromas, a lot of cocoa, dark chocolate, a lot of spices and some banana, coconut and apricot, as well as mint in the finish. Already really tasty, no question but I personally lack here something the funk and the fruit. Is me overall just too much wood and too bitter and dry. Also, the alcohol could be a little better integrated. The I would have real Bock in May Tai to try🤤

Nach dem einschenken erfüllt ein unheimlich schöner fruchtig-würziger Duft den Raum. Ich hab ihm mal 20 min Zeit gegeben. Tolle Nase. Intensiv fruchtig, würzig, frisch. Assoziation zu Sherry. Weiche getrocknete Pflaume. Die säuerliche Süße von Sauerkirsche und Brombeere. Süße Würze von Leder und ganz leicht Tabak. Holzige Noten kommen durch. Feinste Ester, ehr in Richtung Lösungsmittel. Am Gaumen komplex und intensiv. Jetzt ist die kräftige Würze vorne. Holzig, röstig, salzig. Von der Würze am ehesten Kardamom, Anis und Vanille. Süß-herbes Leder. Die Süße von Pflaume. Gebrannter Zucker, Richtung Karamell. Im Abgang noch immer würzig-holzig, aber auch herb-süß wie Creme Brulee und Schwarztee. Ein ganz großer, reifer Rum. Sehr untypisch für NY da kaum Ester. Aber Sau-Lecker!

C'est super Gourmand au nez, peu fruité mais très pâtissier. La bouche est totalement en accord avec ce beau nez. La seule raison pour qui m'empêche de le trouver exceptionnel cest 67.7! Trop d'alcool. Il faut attendre super longtemps pour que l'alcool laisse les autres arômes se libérer et pour pouvoir le boire. Une petite réduction lui aurait certainement été profitable.

On a blind test, I will probably think that this is a classic Demerara..on the nose, is really far from a typical Jamaican rum, with strong notes of plums, raisins and vanilla, balanced out by a fair amount of spices (pepper and a touch of nutmeg). Then the barrel, with a wood and maybe grassy note, together with a touch of leather. Same profile with the taste. You do get a really light hint of glue, but nowhere near the classical Hampden’s. Oddly good!

Reminds of a Foursquare mixed with Guyana. Heavy wood influence through intense nuts and chocolate notes, some coconut, dried fruit. A bit of alcohol sharpness is detectable, but doesn't interfere too much. On the late finish some pineapple creeps up.
