“That I would ever prefer a pure Vendome to a John Dore or because of me a mix of Vendome & John Dore, I would not have thought possible. But with this rum it is so. What a flavor monster! What a powerful finish that goes on for ages! And all for little more than a hundred bucks. Phew, I guess I'll have to rethink my rating of the Chairman's I've tasted so far. And have to get me a bottle of this rum. That is as certain as the Amen in the church.”

“today the R&C bottling from the Vendome pot still competes against the cherry, which comes from the John Dore 2. The first thing that stands out is that the R&C is significantly darker. This is probably due to the longer storage (18 yrs vs 13 yrs). On the nose, the two are also very different: the R&C with polish, floral notes, caramel and a slight medicinal tinge, while the Kirsch is more on the garage notes and (sour-fermented) red fruits (reminiscent of Grand Aromes). On the palate, both play pretty much on the charred wood-dirty tar keyboard. The differences here are minor. The bottom line is that I like the cherry profile a bit more.”

“The third Chairman's in today's tasting. It is by far not as fruity as the others, but really good! More on the woody spicy side. In the finish, some fruit does appear. A cherry note spreads long and pleasant”
