“Und der letzte aus der S.B.S 2020er DOK Reihe. Ist ja genau mein Ding Diese Esterbomben. Hier natürlich auch Ester, Ester und nochmals Ester. Hinzu kommen noch tropische Früchte und Ananas. Einfach nur top.”

“And now the third DOK, now in oloroso barrel... Nose: of course, again intense esters. Can not be otherwise. Here lemon is still before pineapple. And it goes more in the direction of solvent than glue. There is slightly more sweetness than with a Virgin Oak. But everything is perfectly in balance. 8,0 Palate: very close to port. Intense, esters without end, astringent at the start, sweet and sour pineapple, bacony texture. And some honey underscores the sweet impression. Pairs well together. 8,2 I've noticed it before: a DOK can "put away" a wide variety of finishes very well. While the sherry finishes in particular bother me more with other rums, it actually works quite well here.”

“Compared to the other releases in the series, it seems somewhat duller, more restrained and even a little "mustier" due to the Oloroso influence. Interesting experiment, even here the alcohol is still clearly marked, the swing into the heavy fruit aroma offers an exciting taste experiment - even if it doesn't completely convince me.”
