Poisson Distillery has named their Rhum after Père Labat (Father Labat), a French multi-talented Dominican missionary that among lots of other things also improved the development process of Rhum with the introduction of Charentaise distillation, which is used to make Cognac, that made the Rhum more floral and round instead of sharp and burning.

Probablement le meilleur rhum blanc de cette gamme de prix (20/25€). Costaud et très végétal, top en ti punch. Grand classique.

Der bisher grünste Agricole, den ich probiert habe. In der Nase frisch geschnittenes Gras, Limetten - keine Spur von Modrigkeit, aber ein Hauch Rauch. Im Mund Zucker-Explosion: Kandiertes Gras, Demerara Zucker, Zuckerrohrsaft. Dazu eine Spur Süßholz oder salziges Lakritz. Leider dahinter nicht mehr sehr komplex. Der Mund trotzdem stärker als die Nase. Im Ti Punch gibt es zusätzlich einen Kräuterkick. Hat was von Sprite Kerbel-Koriander - but in a good way 😉. Geht extrem leicht runter für 59%[

Au nez on retrouve bien évidemment de la belle canne à sucre bien fraîche ! Elle s’intensifie avec à ses côtés : surtout du citron vert mais aussi des fruits exotiques (fruits de la passion et mangue). On a un côté très bonbon, puis on repart vers un coté plus herbacé et terreux. En bouche quelle présence, mais surtout quelle belle intégration de l’alcools. Rien ne brûle, on est dans l’équilibre et le contrôle. On retrouve la canne à sucre et le citron, puis on a une légère pointe de réglisse. Les olives font également leur apparition La finale est sur la canne à sucre et une note terreuse
