How does this rum taste?
The Jamaica WPH is an unaged rum distilled in 2021 at the Worthy Park distillery by 1423 World Class Spirits. Known for its high ABV of 57%, this rum offers an intense aromatic profile of funk, overripe fruits, and fresh grass. Taste notes echo its nose with pronounced esters, pineapple, banana, and a hint of metallic undertones. While some enjoy its bold character in cocktails, others find it challenging when neat, noting its distinct sweetness and ester-heavy bouquet reminiscent of wild, tropical excess. Perfect for mixing, it can offer an adventurous twist to cocktails, though purists might find it demanding.

On the nose, I find the typical aroma of the distillery: tropical fruits such as banana and some pineapple, esters, fresh green grass aromas and light floral aromas. The alcohol is relatively present. The taste is just as grassy and fresh, a little funk and, of course, slightly overripe fruit. In addition, metallic aromas and unfortunately noticeable alcohol again. The rum also has a slight astringency. I also miss the oily texture of the RumBar Overproof from the same company, which seems to me to be the better deal here
#4016 This is a very nice unaged rum and I'd prefer it in a mixer or maybe on the rocks. Can be enjoyed pure as well and the longer it is rested the more flavours appear.
Quite artificially sweet and metallic. Could be better.
Hello compost. The thing is already really an announcement from more than overripe. In particular, an almost rotten meat note stands out. It's not bad, but I would call it 'challenging'. Flavor then tamer, creamy and clearly fruity tame sweetness. Pleases me so massively better than on the nose. Banana, pineapple and stone fruit do stand out here. Nice funky as soon as lime and sweetness come on.
