A fine rum, especially for the beautiful, savory finish. The alcohol lacks a little integration. The nose is alcoholic but rather fresh, with tangerine peel and a hint of acetone. The palate is a little weak, the aromas not developing much. Citrus fruits provide freshness.
Auto-translatedAn enjoyable Babadian from Mount Gay distillery. A bit alcoholic in the mouth and the integration may be slightly off. Still has great flavours though, fruity and spicy with vanilla. A medium length finish
The nose has a wonderfully fresh and playful aroma of citrus fruits, cola and subtle floral notes, which pleasantly contrast the heavy profile in the base note. On the palate, the long maturation is clearly more evident in the form of heavy spicy notes, wood influence and gentle fruit aromas. Unfortunately, the transition from the nose to the palate goes against my personal preference; the rum becomes quite powerful and demanding, which is a little too much for me. However, the complexity and also the alcohol integration are harmonious and should be quite right for fans of the distillery.
Auto-translatedMaybe the best Mount Gay I’ve tried. It offered complexity through a sweeter side of caramel and vanilla which played against a medicinal note combined with bitter dark chocolate finish. You could certainly tell the barrel ageing and quality of the rum.
