How does this rum taste?
Reviewers rave about its expressive, fruity nose—tropical fruit, orange peel and a characteristic glue/polish—backed by woody depth. Distilled at Diamond in 1998 and aged 24 years, it drinks softly for 49.1% with spicy, herbal, yellow-fruit flavors. Expect a drier, wood‑led finish with light bitterness; a few find it thin or slightly unbalanced. A popular release on RumX with 51 reviews and strong buyer confidence.

Lovechild from 2010 Moneymusk MBS & 2006 Foursquare! Super mild & relaxed. Lots of honey, light fresh herbs like lemon verbena and some milk chocolate, as well as kumquat jam and toasted coconut chips. Could be a little more powerful but on the whole it is very tasty and elegant!
Sehr guter schwerer Guyana Rum, sehr intensiv, Alkohol kratzt kein bißchen! Dieser Rum zusammen mit einer guten Schokolade mit ~50% Kakaogehalt ist ein Traum!
8,6:On the nose, pretty darn nice🙂, as we are impressed with yellow fruits, toasted coconut, roasted wood notes with caramel, dark chocolate and some glue. On aeration, we continue with citrus like an orange peel, spices, dried and tropical fruits, a molasses is vegetal, brings tobacco and black tea. There are nuts and a little menthol. 8,2:On the palate, the attack is tasty with yellow, tropical fruits, roasted wood notes like caramel and milk chocolate, toasted coconut, an orange and spices. The wood quickly overtakes the palate with dryness, heavy spice like cardamom, tannins are quite intense with bitterness, acidity, waxy. There are some metallic notes, the molasses is vegetal....Notes like glue, petrol and menthol don't help rounding the rum.Just vanilla does that. 8,5:The finish is round, still a bit dry, less tannic and spicy.Dried fruits mellow our tasting, so do creamy roasted wood notes and some tea...
Third place within the new trio. The three rums are all well distinguishable from each other, each has a peculiarity. This one I felt somehow "off", as if there was something wrong with him or something was added to him. But you could also say, he has an unmistakable, strong character.Unfortunately, I can not say what irritated me so. I must probably taste again.
